My husband was out of town for for an annual work meeting this past week, so the kids and I planned lots of fun activities to keep us busy while he was gone! Evan went to circus camp and had a blast – and as you can see there was even “ringmaster” face painting and popcorn!
After we picked him up at the end his last day of camp on Thursday, we biked to The STIL for a special ice cream treat. They were just recognized by Today as being one of the top ice cream shops in the country – which is well deserved recognition!

On Friday we met some friends for a swimming play date. The kids had so much fun we ended up staying until dark.
Saturday we had our typical busy morning with swim lessons and Taekwondo. In the afternoon we finally went to go see Toy Story 4! The kids have been asking forever and I have to admit I was thinking it would be a let down after how perfect the first three movies were. But Pixar really did manage to create another sweet movie that pulls on the heartstrings and still had lots of laughs. I wore this fun little top that is 50% off.
On Sunday Cole went to a friend’s house for a play date – so it was just Evan and I for the day! We celebrated National Ice Cream day with a bike ride back to The STIL for a sweet treat and had a fun afternoon just having some one on one time.
On Monday we beat the heat (it was a smoking 100 degrees!) and went to the Discovery Center. We hadn’t been to their Bricks! exhibit yet and I knew it would be right up my little LEGO lovers’ alley. They had an absolute blast going through all of the different LEGO activity stations, and I have to admit it was kind of relaxing for me sitting back and watching while they spent hours focusing on their creations.
And I have to share this headband I wore, which is a pretty great dupe of the popular (and pricey!) Lele Sadoughi version.
Yesterday we hosted an all-day playdate at our house…and I’m pooped! It was kind of a weird day outside (overcast and stormy – but super hot) so the kids didn’t want to go out and instead raced around the house (screaming) for hours. (Boy moms – I know you understand!!!) Mom tip – s’mores make a great playdate snack. It buys you a solid 20 minutes or so of calm and quiet while they make them!
Hope you are having a great Wednesday!
